The Ponds School Branding
The Ponds School is newly established school for students with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities. Launched in March 2012, the primary purpose of the school is to provide quality teaching through innovation, technology and community involvement. Through collaborative discussions with the school community a new logo and motto was developed to better represent the new positioning and direction. The Project The Ponds School approached Dare to be…Bold because of the Xanthe’s experience in rebranding educational institutes. The method of creative development was unique because we undertook a collaborative and community approach to producing the design with all staff, students and their families having an input in the logo outcome. With this project we have shown that ‘design by committee’ methods can work! The Logo This logo represents ambition and achievement through the use of a frog silhouette climbing onto a lotus flower. The petals of the lotus are like faceted jewels with each petal containing its own tone or colour. This promotes concepts of individuality and yet when each petal comes together… a unique flower is formed to convey themes of unity.
